Today I had a really good day! Autographed books inside the Ica City Boras recently opened bokavdelning.
Was well looked after by Marie from Pocket wholesaler who also had with him his sister Zara to support.
And all those nice people you meet. And those who already read the book and ask when will continue, but even those who wonder what kind of book, what it is about. I get so happy when people dare to try a new author! Many of the shop's customers I talked long with - meetings, I will remember.
Took the opportunity to major shopping before I would go home, and when I pack up all the food in the car, I discover that the cell phone is missing. I borrowed a phone and call on it. Oddly enough, the mobile answer in which it should not do because I know that it is turned on. Someone needs to shut it off! I go through all the bags to see if it got there, but not. I talk to one of the cashiers who refer to the information desk. Depressed I go there and ask. Can hardly believe it's true when they pick up cell phone. Hooray! A thousand thousand thanks to you, you are amazing Boras who submitted it, and also locked it so nobody else could make it.
Last Wednesday, I had time off. After sitting with the script work as long as it felt lovely to spend the day in Gothenburg. Took a breakfast at the central station and watched the people. A turn to the Pocket Shop to sign some books while I was there. As it turned out that the mountain of books that were there last were sold out. There remained seven items and two of them were sold while I was there.
Stax after twelve I met Catherine Althin in the lobby of the Hotel Avalon. We had long talked about taking a lunch, as my reward for all hours in front of your computer. Catherine saw of course very great, but then she runs also Style Studio Gothenburg.
"How are you doing with style, Ann?" Said Catherine. Yes, how did I really thought I was trying to formulate and me. It all ended with a small interview that Catherine put on her blog, (Wednesday 24 March). Can be found at:
Lunch was at least good and nice and after a while I discovered that it was quite empty in the restaurant. Which was understandable because the clock had become 15:30.
It was a turn into some shops and I quickly realized that Catherine has an eye and see things I do when it comes to clothes. Really interesting to listen to her reasoning and I understand that she is frequently engaged. Next time I will be better prepared, may also have Dextrosol in your jacket pocket to increase my stamina ...
The time had become a lot when I sat on the train and then bus back to Marstrand. It is like another world out here, a different pace, I think when I get off the bus. But having Gothenburg, a stone's throw away is not stupid.
Yesterday was a höjdardag. Air taxi took me 07:05. Then we went to Stockholm. In the taxi from Bromma I ended up with George, a police officer working in the city division in Gothenburg - sometimes you're lucky! After getting his contact details and given a pocket for him and one of the nice taxi driver, I found myself up to Visual Sound studio in Brännkyrkagatan. Anders Brisbane Ling and Lasse Jungman Jansson, who runs Visual Sound thought it would be nice if I read in after word of the book itself. Can say that I had practiced so as not to pole, and were given advice by Mirja Signature Manor.
Very interesting to see how it works with audio book production, plus to meet Mirja and her lovely four-month daughter.
To sit in a studio with headphones on your ears and listen when someone reads a story that you yourself have invented is a breathtaking sense. Especially when the reader brings to life characters and story in the most delicate way. Varies voice and expression for each character and then find back there in the next paragraph. Impressive!
Mirja proved to be a fantastically nice and down to earth girl who invited both Lasse and me to lunch after we were finished with the recordings. Then I had a good time before the flight would go and was quickly lost in the South. I'm not good at finding in the capital. Was therefore pleased when I came across Mirja with the stroller a few hours later and was joined a bit - in the right direction. The toy store where she recommended I found never, but instead had good coffee. Johan & Nyström on Swedenborgsgatan.
At the airport I accosted a guy who stood at the paperback shelf. Managed to get him to put back the book he held in and instead take the four-masted daughter, against that I signed it.
It was free seating on the flight to Gothenburg and I ended up between the Lena and Maria - two from Marstrand. What are the odds of that? Pleasant was anyway.
The fog was thick when I went over Instöbron. The children were sleeping when I got home. Her husband put rails on the upper floor. Before I go to sleep I think I must have the world's best job.
(PS - Yes, you will be able to comment, it's on G, but Jens who manages part skiing this week. DS)
